Cosmogenesis

256 INTERACTIVE GENERATIVE WORKS INSCRIBED ON BITCOIN

Collect On Gamma

A LIVING SYSTEM ON BITCOIN

Cosmogenesis is a collection of 256 interactive generative works built in p5.js and inscribed on Bitcoin. Each piece runs from code held on-chain, producing an animated pulse that viewers can control, pause, accelerate, and capture.

HOW COSMOGENESIS BEGAN

Cosmogenesis began when I moved an OCM Genesis asset from Ethereum to Bitcoin. Seeing that migration happen at the satoshi level changed how I thought about Bitcoin. It was not only a place to record ownership. It could hold the code, provenance, and behavior of an artwork.

I built Cosmogenesis in p5.js as a collection of 256 interactive generative works. Each inscription contains the code needed to produce its animated pulse. The output can be slowed, accelerated, paused, shaken, and exported by the viewer, so the work is experienced through motion and participation rather than as a single fixed image.

The collection was inscribed in a deliberate sequence using Alpha, Block 9 450x, and Omega satoshis. Parent and child inscriptions connect each work to a larger on-chain lineage.

The result is a project about creation, continuity, and resilience. Its visual language is simple, but it never fully settles. The pulse remains active as long as the inscription can be rendered.

  • Toggle the Pulse: Click the center of the artwork to start or stop the pulse.
  • Control the Pulse: Press numbers 1-9 to adjust pulse speed.
  • Hyperspeed: Press Spacebar to accelerate the pulse.
  • Toggle Shake: Press S to activate or deactivate the shake effect.
  • Capture Moments: Press G or P to export directly as GIFs or PNGs.

Dynamic Scalability

  • Cosmogenesis adapts seamlessly to any aspect ratio, screen size, or resolution, preserving its visual precision across devices.

Collector Benefits

  • Genesis Pass: First access and up to 50% discounts on future works.
  • The Stars Align: Hold a piece to guarantee a claim for the upcoming Ecstasy collection and 2+ to enter the Stars Align Lottery for future claims.
  • Token-Gated Discord: Verified holders gain access to an exclusive space where discussions, collaboration, and community thrive.
  • Collaborations and Whitelists: Regular partnerships with other projects bring exclusive whitelist opportunities to Cosmo collectors.

INSCRIPTION AND ON-CHAIN LINEAGE

THE COLLECTION'S STRUCTURE IS PART OF THE ARTWORK.

Each piece belongs to an on-chain lineage that begins with a grandparent inscription, continues through the collection’s parent inscription, and branches into child inscriptions. This structure preserves the relationship among the works directly on Bitcoin.

The Inscription Sequence

  • Sequential Inscription
  • Six Alpha Satoshis (genesis markers)
  • 244 Block 9 450× Satoshis (core of the collection)
  • Six Omega Satoshis (completing the circle)
  • Special Satoshi: grandparent inscribed on a Black Uncommon Satoshi mined Oct 18, 2017 (my birthday and entry into crypto)
