Steven’s AI-assisted work combines photography, digital compositing, iterative image generation and hands-on editing. His photographic background informs the framing, color and composition, while generated imagery provides material for imagined characters and environments. Through selection and refinement, he develops the details, atmosphere and relationships within each scene. Familiar figures and settings take on unexpected forms, extending his photographic foundation into work that moves between the recognizable and the surreal.

Presented by Rudolf Budja Gallery at Art Miami 2023 and listed on Artsy, Cosmic Cowboy brought a digitally constructed image into a physical gallery setting.
